Late last year, Capcom announced RE: Degeneration, a full-length RE CG movie that was due to be released sometime in 2008. As a fan of the Resident Evil series, I was pretty excited about this. At the recent Comic-Con 08, Capcom revealed a new trailer preview for the upcoming movie. You can check it out here:

Leon, Claire, (and the zombies) are back. Apparently, it's also supposed to reveal what happened to most of the other RE characters after Racoon City.

Wowwww looks like its gonna be a freaking good game man, a total Resident Evil 2 Meeting.

What a big coincidence, Leon and Claire meet up and of course.... William had to appear i bet he wants revenge...he wants his daughter back for sure....oh crap this is gonna be insanely good....


Man ...Leon has changed a lot from the first Resident Evil he appeared at ( 2 ) ....he has turned all colder now and more serious, with his kinda chilled cool way of speaking, D: dont die guys we need your sexiness for future games! don't let William get you!

Yeah, it should be pretty cool! Hopefully, this movie will wrap up some loose ends about some of the RE characters and Umbrella.

Oh yeah, for some reason, that airport in that trailer really reminds me of the layout at Incheon International Airport in South Korea. I wonder if Capcom used that airport as a base model for this movie...?

I just saw Resident Evil: Degeneration last night. I thought it was an okay movie overall. The CG in this movie was pretty good though, probably on par with Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children.

Since the movie is directly tied to the RE game series' storyline (unlike the RE Trilogy movies), the movie is more of a fan-service than anything. Besides featuring characters like Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield, the movie also makes references to the T/G-Virus (RE1-3), William Birkin (RE2), Racoon City (RE1-3), Hunnigan (RE4), etc. The movie also ties in with the upcoming Resident Evil 5, with references to Africa and Tricell, a pharmicudical company that will be playing a major role in that game.

Those that have not played the games will probably not enjoy Degeneration that much.

I only played Re 1, 4 and the demo of 5. never got the chance to play RE 2 and 3. but I still liked the movie. Since I knew most chars.

Yep, it's pretty much "fan service" to those who played the game. All the people that I showed RE: Degeneration to (who have never played the game BTW) thought it was a pretty boring movie.
