Beijing Summer Olympics 2008 Begin
Well, the Summer Olympics are here again. Today is the official launch of the Beijing Summer Olympics 2008, which will go on for 16 days until August 24.
Which sport events are you guys looking forward to watching? I'm interested in archery, baseball, basketball, and soccer for this olympics.
Ryan, Dan: Remember Laudie? Wonder if she'll be in this one, loud and all...

I usually just watch whatever the other people in the house are watching. Some of it's interesting but I'm not interested enough to sit down and pick something because I always have other stuff to do.

Looks like the South Koreans will dominate the archery events this olympics, if today's gold medal victory of the South Korean women's team has any indication.

Sixth straight olympic gold medals, wow.
The US-China basketball game was fun to watch; it was touch and go at the beginning, but the U.S. defeated China in the end, 101-70.

Re: Beijing Summer Olympics 2008 Begin
The UK really jumped in ranking after the Cycling, Sailing, and Rowing events started.
In basketball, Team USA is proving to be a real dream team, as it is basically rolling over every other country in basketball. USA will face Spain for the gold medal this Sunday: http://www.startribune.com/sports/olymp ... ec8O7EyUsX
In baseball, South Korea continues it's perfect record, as it defeated it's biggest rival, Japan, 6-2 today. I guess this match was bittersweet for Korea, since in the World Baseball Classic 2006, Japan knocked Korea out of the semi-finals, even though Korea had defeated Japan in two prior games in the WBC. Cuba completely dominated the US, as the game scored ended at 10-2, with Cuba winning. South Korea and Cuba will be duking it out for the gold medal tomorrow, with the US and Japan facing each other for the bronze: http://www.foxsports.com.au/beijing_oly ... 92,00.html
Time really flies; only two days until the Olympics end!

Wow, South Korea just defeated Cuba for the gold medal in baseball! And with a undefeated record! Cuba must be in shock right now. U.S. also beat out Japan for the bronze medal.

Congrats to South Korea and the U.S. baseball teams!

1 gold, 1 silver, and 2 bronze is still pretty good. Besides, Finland is currently ranked higher than Sweden, if you go by the gold->silver->bronze rankings.Yahoo wrote:Finland won only bronze medal in javelin
