Alright, after a few days of downtime, the Minecraft server is up and running now, fully updated to the latest version, Minecraft Beta 1.1_02. To connect, use the client provided in the first post, but check the "Force Update Files" to update to the latest version.
I've taken care of the lag issues; my roommate was hogging up all the bandwidth with his torrent files.
Joey's been on a role lately; he's created a lot of huge and impressive monuments.

Also discovered a cool new add-on for Minecraft; a mini-map, which can be found here:

If anyone has any recommended features that I should add to the server, I'll gladly add it.

Do you have give items command?
Its pretty much more fun getting the items with commands than digging them for all day before building something
Got pretty much bored to minecraft after beta
The texturepacks got pretty much screwed.

Yep, give item commands have been enabled, along with the typical commands that come with the hMod plugin. Infinite life has been re-enabled, so you no longer have to worry about dying from monsters, lava, drowning, or from high heights.
Also added the ability to fly.
To fly, get a hold of some feathers and swing it like a tool to fly.

Server's been updated to Beta 1.2_01! Make sure to use the "Force Update" option before connecting, if using the client from this site.
Several new blocks/resources have been introduced with this version, which include dye materials, dyed blocks, note blocks, lapis lazuli stones, etc. A lot of bugs have also been resolved in this version as well.
Unfortunately, Nether portals are still non-functional for multiplayer. The wait continues...

It's been a while since the last post, but the server's been online this entire time. Server's been updated to 1.4_01 with several new features.
Me and Joey have been building away, with a major railroad/subway system in place, mansions created, as well as a few megastructures being worked on. Joey's pretty much finished with the aqueduct, but is now working on a major pyramid in the east of the map.
Here's a (LARGE) PNG image file of the current world. (Beware, it's pretty huge!):

While there's been some major progress, it be great to get some more help to develop this huge world.

You have to use the "Force Update" option, if you're using the client from the first thread, since the server version is on 1.4_01. This should update your client to 1.4_01.

It's probably lagging because of the distance between us, my slow 7 MB DSL connection, or a combination of both. :p
Either way, I should probably upgrade my Internet connection to a faster speed sometime this summer.
