For those with ATI Radeon video cards, you might want to check out these real-time 3D demos. These are 3D tech. demos that are rendered in real-time, unlike pre-rendered CGI movies. They are designed to take full advantage of the graphics' card features. They are introduced whenever a new Radeon series is released. Some of the more impressive ones are the "Ruby" demos.
(NOTE: You must have a Radeon card that meets or exceeds the Radeon series requirement for each demo. For example, a Radeon HD3850 can run all 9700/9800/X800/HD2000 3D demos, but a Radeon X800 cannot run a HD2000 demo.)

One amusing fact is that a group of MIT students hacked nVIDIA's Dawn Demo so that it would run on ATI cards. What's even funnier is that it ran faster on ATI cards at that time! To grab the demo and the patch to run it on ATI cards, check this article: Dawn Sleeps With ATI
