Unlike the original, Far Cry 2 was developed in-house by Ubi Soft; the original developers of Far Cry was Crytek, who developed last year's hit Crysis and the recent Crysis expansions (Warhead / Wars). Fortunately, Far Cry 2 is not as abysmal as the console-only Far Cry expansions were (also developed by Ubi Soft), as the game is scoring high review scores from several review sites.

For PC users, Far Cry 2's system requirements are a little bit hefty. PCGH recently did a Far Cry 2 performance benchmark and it looks like those with dual/triple/quad-core processors will see a large performance boost, while those with single-core processors will likely suffer in performance.
I'll definitely be checking out Far Cry 2.
